The Estuar Foundation was established in 1993 with the mission of providing social options for adults with mental health problems for their inclusion in the community. With a team of dedicated specialists and working in public and private partnership with local public institutions of social assistance, education, employment but also at the European level, ESTUAR integrates mental health into the policies, practices and programs of Romanian society. Since 2013, they have been recognized by the Romanian state as having public utility status. ESTUAR is the first organization in Romania that offered sheltered housing to adults with mental health problems, and a community alternative to the hospitalization in psychiatric hospitals.

 

The Estuar Foundation offers psychological counseling and social integration services in refugee centers in Bucharest through programs that support Ukrainian refugees  to overcome the trauma produced by the war, non-formal education activities, vocational and educational counseling.
