ASSOC Baia Mare is one of the 31 partners of the CARE FOR UKRAINE project, financed by CARE through the SERA Romania Foundation, CARE France and FONPC. The ASSOC team intervened from the first days of the conflict, supporting the people who took refuge in Maramureș County, both in the dedicated spaces in Baia Mare and Sighetu Marmației, and through its mobile teams.
The CARE global confederation initiated, from the first moments of the escalation of the situation in Ukraine, consistent humanitarian support, both in the affected Ukrainian cities and in the countries with the largest influxes of refugees, such as Poland, Georgia, Romania and the Republic of Moldova, reaching a total of 989,700 people internationally. In Romania, CARE intervened through its partners – SERA Romania Foundation and FONPC (Federation of Non-Governmental Organizations for Children), through a project called CARE FOR UKRAINE, which reached almost 150,000 people affected by the conflict. 31 NGOs from Romania and the Republic of Moldova are part of the CARE FOR UKRAINE humanitarian action.
