FARA Foundation is an organization established in 1991, which carries out social protection activities for children and young people. The services offered by FARA cover a wide range of activities, including residential centers for children, recovery and rehabilitation centers for young people with disabilities, family abandonment and school dropout prevention programs, programs for children with disabilities in specialized centers. All these activities take place in Bucharest, Popeşti Leordeni, Ilfov county, Suceava county and Satu Mare. The FARA Foundation brings its contribution, through the programs developed, to increase the quality of life, cohesion and social responsibility in some of the poorest communities in Romania.
FARA provided emergency aid at the border in Siret, Sighet, Isaccea by giving Ukrainian refugees basic food and non-food products (hygiene kits, PPE, warm clothing, first aid kits, medical supplies). Current services include safe accommodation and personal care products, clothing, hygiene kits, laundry access, transportation, food, and humanitarian financial support for travel or legal services. It facilitates access to official information, emotional support, educational and recreational activities for children and families, Romanian language classes and mentoring to facilitate integration.
