Star of Hope Romania Foundation is a non-governmental organization established in 1998, whose mission is to improve the quality of life of children with disabilities and children from disadvantaged environments. The Foundation is actively involved in changes and improvements in the legislation regarding the protection of the rights of persons with disabilities, monitoring of children’s rights and organizing trainings for parents and professionals. Star of Hope Romania also opened 13 centers for children – 6 recuperative therapy centers and 7 afterschool day centers in several localities in Romania and in the Republic of Moldova.
The Star of Hope teams are working at the Siret customs, where they ensure access to food and logistical and psychological support for Ukrainian refugees. Star of Hope also coordinates a shelter in Suceava, where they offer social services and medium- or long-term accommodation for refugees, covering food needs and personal hygiene products.
