“Women’s Law Centre” is a non-governmental organization founded in 2009 by a group of women lawyers from the Republic of Moldova, an organization that advocates for equal opportunities between women and men and contributes to the prevention of domestic violence and gender-based violence against women. The organization’s mission also includes preventing gender-based violence by raising awareness of public opinion, strengthening the capacities of actors in the field, offering holistic assistance and protection services for women, research and analysis, monitoring legislation and aligning it with the international standards.

 

After the outbreak of the war in Ukraine, the CDF started the implementation in the Republic of Moldova, with the financing of CARE, through the SERA Romania Foundation, CARE France and FONPC, of the “Emergency response for Ukraine crisis” project. Within this, five public libraries from different regions of the Republic of Moldova (Soroca, Hânceşti, Anenii Noi, Criuleni, Ialoveni, Căuşeni, Soldăneşti and Ştefan Vodă) opened their doors to refugees from Ukraine – children, women and men, in order to offer them a safe and friendly space where they can access useful information and have access to the necessary services: legal, humanitarian, but also psychological support, support in the field of human rights, as well as prevention of human trafficking.
