Rehabilitation Center for Torture Victims “Memoria” (RCTV Memoria) is a national non-commercial organization. RCTV Memoria has had a holistic and multidisciplinary approach to the rehabilitation of torture since April 2000. A multidisciplinary team provides services to beneficiaries through a comprehensive model of rehabilitation and trauma healing, which includes: Medical care, psychological counseling, psychotherapy, psychosocial services and reintegration support, and legal services. An essential activity is appropriate documentation of all cases, for accessing justice and redress, according to the “Manual on Effective Investigation and Documentation of Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment” (the Istanbul Protocol) and to the practical Guideline on documentation of the gender-based violence, elaborated based mainly on the experience of RCTV Memoria, Promo-LEX (authors) and other NGOs. 

 

Within the project, “Humanitarian Assistance and rehabilitation programs for gender-based violence victims and Ukrainian refugees“, RCTV Memoria provides essential humanitarian assistance  to vulnerable Ukrainian refugees in Moldova – primarily women with children, survivors of torture, ill-treatment, and other forms of violence as well as persons with severe and chronic diseases. It also supports Ukrainian refugees with healthcare services and medical treatment, external referrals for further medical consultations and social services.
