The Society for Children and Parents (SCOP) Timișoara is a non-governmental organization established in 1996 with the mission of increasing the quality of the life of children, women and families, as well as preventing human trafficking, child abuse or abandonment and domestic violence. Preschool education for children from disadvantaged families, protection and increasing the resilience of young people from vulnerable groups, promotion of children’s rights, school education for vulnerable children facing dropout, prevention and intervention in the case of vulnerable women, training courses for specialists are the main programs and services carried out by SCOP.
SCOP Timișoara established a multifunctional center focused on integrated support services for Ukrainian refugees: psychological and vocational counseling, legal assistance. The center also functions as an afterschool for children, being a safe space for socializing and for various recreational and educational activities. They also have a mobile team that helps refugees in transit.
